MAIN ELECTRICAL PANEL UPGRADES

Over time most homeowners add new appliances and circuits to their home. Each may seem a small addition, but collectively they increase the demand put on your electrical panel.

Upgrading your electrical panel (sometimes called a ‘fuse box’ or ‘breaker box’) can be the answer to keeping your home safe and efficient.

The electrical panel is the control center and hub of electrical activity and routing in your home. It’s maintenance is important to a safe and effective power distribution.

Our electricians will evaluate your circuits, determine when your home was built and how much electricity you use to guide them in determining if you need your panel replaced or a sub-panel added to your home to keep up with the entire home’s electrical demand.

Remember, making changes to your electrical panel is a job for an experienced professional electrician and should never be attempted on your own.

Sub-Panel Installation

The primary reason to install a sub-panel (also known as a service sub panel or circuit breaker sub panel) is two-fold.

THE FIRST REASON is usually to make room for more circuits and their accompanying circuit breakers that you intend to install. Main panel boxes can only hold so many circuits.

THE SECOND REASON beyond creating space, is that the sub-panel can be placed in a different location that will provide a logical layout to your electrical system. For instance a sub-panel can service a kitchen, laundry room, workshop, porch, deck or pool with that being its sole function making it clear which circuit breakers and branch circuits apply to that specific area of your home. By keeping one sup-panel having one duty it is easier for the home owner and the electrician.

At Britt Rice Electric, we evaluate your panel and sub-panel needs to give you the best direction for safe and well organized electrical circuits in your home..
