Project Description

Britt Rice Electric partnered with Manhattan Construction to deliver a complete electrical and fire alarm package for this landmark exhibit. Our team provided turnkey power, lighting, and technology infrastructure supporting both the pavilion structure and its museum-grade exhibit environment.

Facility Overview

This major expansion to the George H. W. Bush Presidential Library & Museum introduces a new 29,000 square-foot pavilion — known as the James A. Baker III Pavilion — designed to showcase two iconic artifacts: the Union Pacific 4141 locomotive and a retired Marine One helicopter once used by President George H. W. Bush.

New Additions and Features

• Signature artifacts: Fully displayed Union Pacific 4141 locomotive and Marine One helicopter
• Architectural highlights: 23-foot-tall by 24-foot-wide custom bifolding doors, electrochromic glazing, enhanced acoustics, and museum-grade terrazzo flooring
• Technology: A large Daktronics LED storytelling wall and a suspended LED constellation system that simulates the night sky
• Visitor amenities: Daisy’s Table café, interactive exhibits, visitor information, and modern public spaces
• Innovative construction: Pavilion engineered to be built around the already-installed 4141 locomotive
